Ever since the day that I initially designed the concept for intotheark, I have not stopped learning. And as long as I am actively involved in this company I don't believe I ever will. Working with Mathew we have built a very solid team to support and build upon that initial concept and even though our potential and ideas keep growing I am glad to say that we have not lost focus of our core values. And that is to build a company that will inspire and inform its users using the good work of zoological collections as our central point.

In many ways zoos provide a window to the world, they can not only inspire us with the sheer diversity and wonder of the natural world but also educate us as to the state we ae now in. I hope that intotheark will promote and raise awareness of the good work of zoos and show that by supporting them and taking an interest in their work we can change the picture we now see through that window.

I have been involved in the Internet space for some time - working in business development for some of the UK's largest Internet companies. For me, Intotheark is an opportunity to be part of a company that is trying to use the power of the web to bring an appreciation of conservation and an understanding of animals to the mass market. Intotheark is as much an education as a job. Since becoming a director I have gained not only the satisfaction of being part of a successful company, but I have also had my eyes opened to what we are doing to our planet and had the pleasure of meeting some of the small amount of people that are trying to do something about it and ensure that there will be something left for posterity.

Having had over 10 years working within the Zoo community I have been constantly challenged by the increasing pressures upon wildlife and their habitats whilst at the same time seeking to find a mechanism to truly engage long term the good will generated by a special day out that many visitors receive when they visit "their" zoo. ITA provides the platform to achieve a longer term relationship with our visitors to inform and obtain meaningful action and support for the work zoos do. I believe ITA will make a difference in mobilising the action of the many to help us with others to save the planet from a possible fifth extinction.

As part of a 'big 5' firm, my skills have been used to develop new service lines and market the true potential of these new groups. My goal for intotheark is similar. Having visited a number of Zoos and Wildlife Parks as I grew up, I became fascinated in the amazing variety of animals that exist. Recent years have extended my interest in conservation, of not only the animals that I was so interested in as a child, but the natural habitats that support them. With intotheark, I have seen the huge potential of the collections' work and how we can do something to help. To tell people about what is happening in the natural world. To develop understanding of the strength and importance of what the Zoo Society is doing. To increase awareness about what we can actually do.
